PARUL UNIVERSITY TO HONOR LEGENDARY ANATOMIST WITH MEMORIAL DISSECTION HALL

Vadodara, Gujarat – Parul Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (PIMSR) will commemorate the legacy of renowned anatomist Dr. Bhupendra Bharthi Gosai by naming its anatomy dissection hall in his honor. The inauguration ceremony of the “Dr. Bhupendra Bharthi Gosai Memorial Anatomy Dissection Hall” will take place on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, at 12 PM on the third floor of the PIMSR building.

Dr. Gosai (1967-2024), who passed away in March 2024, was a distinguished medical educator with over three decades of exemplary service in medical education and healthcare. His association with Parul University was particularly significant, as he played a pivotal role in the institution’s development since its inception. His contributions were instrumental in securing accreditation for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Anatomy, as well as achieving success during the institution’s first NAAC cycle.

“Dr. Gosai’s dedication to medical education and his commitment to excellence have left an indelible mark on our institution,” said Faculty members of the Institute. “Naming our anatomy dissection hall after him is a fitting tribute to his legacy and the values he championed throughout his career.”

After completing his MBBS and MS in Anatomy from Medical College Baroda, Dr. Gosai dedicated four years to serving rural communities in Gujarat as a medical officer. His illustrious academic career included significant international exposure, including specialized training in problem-based learning and curriculum development at the University Medical Center Groningen, Netherlands. He also served as a faculty member at King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia and was an external examiner for medical programs in various countries including Mauritius, China, and Hubei.

Dr. Gosai’s contributions to medical education extended beyond teaching. He was actively involved in research publication, postgraduate student guidance, and served on various institutional committees focused on curriculum development, faculty development, e-learning, and skills training. His innovative approaches to medical education and unwavering commitment to student development have influenced countless medical professionals worldwide.

“The Dr. Bhupendra Bharthi Gosai Memorial Anatomy Dissection Hall will serve as a reminder of his dedication to anatomical education and his passion for nurturing future medical professionals,” added Dr. Jagdish Gohil, Dean of PIMSR. “His legacy will continue to inspire generations of medical students who will train within these walls.”

The ceremony will bring together faculty members, students, and distinguished guests to honor Dr. Gosai’s memory and celebrate his contributions to medical education.
